Work is advancing on several of the Tameside BSF schools incorporating sustainable surface water drainage and gas protection measures designed by EPG.
The schools, employing EPG designs, include New Charter College, Samuel Laycock School, Hyde Technology College, Dale Grove School, Globe Lane School and New Denton College.
The solutions vary on each site, but include one or more of the following:
- In-ground gas migration interception up to 10m deep
- Passive gas dispersal measures
- Gas barriers
- Source control sustainable drainage
- Rainwater harvesting
EPG is working in conjunction with SEL Environmental in relation to specialist design and build packages for various Carillion project management teams; the specialist works will progress into 2011.
